Exercise with oxygen training (EWOT) is breathing higher levels of oxygen that is purer during exercise whether it be on an exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical or any other piece of equipment used for aerobic exercise – exercise that uses oxygen.
In order to better understand how it works, here's Dr. Ian Yamane to explain.
The Benefits of Breathing More Oxygen
When you breathe more oxygen during exercise, your strength, endurance and stamina increase. The higher concentration of oxygen in our blood, the better your body operates and the more calories you burn during exercise. When you burn more calories, you lose more weight. EWOT can increase weight loss by an additional 20% and has also been successfully used for heart failure, high blood pressure, emphysema, stress, anti-aging and wellness. EWOT is effectively used as an acute therapy and to treat more chronic illnesses.
How You Get More Oxygen
During EWOT, you will be provided an oxygen concentrator that is used to provide concentrated oxygen therapy to you during exercise. The normal air we breathe contains about 21% oxygen. The oxygen concentrator passes room air through the machine and purifies it giving you a constant supply of 90-95% oxygen.
Who Can Use Exercise with Oxygen Training?
EWOT can be used by anyone able to exercise. As with any exercise, the more often you do it, the better the results. EWOT is especially good for athletes as they often rely on strength, endurance and stamina. In fact, many athletes such as Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps and several NFL and NBA players use EWOT to gain an athletic advantage.
What to Expect After Using Exercise with Oxygen Therapy
Once you have used EWOT, the purity and amount of oxygen will have an immediate effect on the brain, the most oxygen dependent tissue. You’ll leave feeling renewed, invigorated and clear-minded and wishing you had done it sooner!
