Weight Loss – Brenda

"Hi, I'm Brenda and I am a patient here at Valhalla. I just wanted to tell you the experience I had here.

I was over 200 pounds and now I'm down to less than 180 pounds, which I haven't seen that number in almost 30 years of my life! It was almost before my third child was born before I had seen that weight.

I'm also diabetic. And my numbers, when I came here, I had an a1c of 7.5 and now my a1c is down to 6.1 which makes me pre-diabetic and not diabetic. And so we're working on now going to my medical doctor to even change some of my medications. I'm actually off of two medications now for my diabetes because I used to be on two and now I'm down to one and we're probably going to be dropping that one a little bit also.

It's been a really good experience here for me. I've been able to do things that I haven't been able to do in a long time. It's helped my energy level and helped me get up and get moving and doing things that I really wanted to do."
